Well i sat and thought about this the whole week long , and i finally think that it is time for you ' ll to be the judge of this matter.
Ever asked yourself why religion is slowly fading in our current generation? Is it because of the modernization of man or is it because man does not fear God anymore ? Well which ever religion your from, I feel that this is a serious matter and need to be resolved soon.
I feel that these days religion is passed down in a very poor manner which leads to many confusion. How can someone start to appreciate something beautiful without even knowing about its purpose in the first place.Well to me religion is a guide to the righteous way of life. Its certainly not a barter trade nor a feared relationship with GOD. Since religion is a guide to the righteous way of life, i feel that people should not be born into religion. They should be given a chance to choose the religion of their choice of practice. This choice of religion should not be forced upon and must be of the person's free will. This will ensure that no one practices religion half heartedly and further jeopardies the value it is carrying.
I know many will disagree with the above opinion, because they feel that due to blood relationships we belong to a certain cast or religion. Well, if you rethink, the body and blood that we glorify is only going back to earth at the end of this temporary journey called life. Hence, we should think of ourselves as humans first before extending our practice to religion. Religion is a useful boundary, which is used to disciplines and nurture one to be a better person. Instead of having religious wars on which religion is better, we all should work together in providing people with options to live in a righteous manner.
In my opinion, which ever religion practiced properly will only bring benefits to one. As great people say, though the rivers have various names but when they join the sea the are only known as one.Hence stop using religion as a knocking stick and start using it as a walking stick to help many realize themselves.
If i have unintentionally hurt anyones believe or practice please be free to voice out you dissatisfactions. I would really love everyone reading this blog, to write a comment on whether religion should be a choice rather then born into ???

First of all, i strongly believe that all religion teaches us good.. no religion teaches us bad things..
if u'd ask me whether a religion should be a choice rather then born into ?..
i would like to ask you back 1 ques..does it matter ? i dun think so..
if we look deep into the roots of the teaching of al-quran, the bible or the gita..there is not much difference, probably they may vary in the language, the characters used in the examples or the approach taken to impart the knowledge.. but then ultimate goal is only ONE- that is to to live a righteous life..thats all.. this is what every religion teaches.. so,whats the diff if we born as and hindu, a chinese, a muslim, or a christian ?
Whether your born into a religion or given a choice to choose it, does it matter? i dun think so...well, for some who see religion in a diff perspective, for diff reasons, this may seem to be a Huge difference..but for those who truely understand the teachings and realise the concept behind it..its not an isue at all..its not what religion u practice or how you practice it that matters.. what matters is whether understand the ultimate purpose of practicing a religion.. thats all..=)
As as u said.." though the rivers have various names but when they join the sea the are only known as one... =)
God bless
i believe you didn't understand what i was trying to convey in this post. Though all religion bring good, but some rules might not favour some people in it, n instead of them breaking this rules i feel they shouldn't be born into the practice in the first place. You cant force a cow to drink unless its thirsty ....
Of course i understand what you meant..and yea i agree tat man should be given freedom to practice the religion he desires..but living in this country i dont know how far this context can be applied in our daily life..
If a man is fortunate enough to practice the religion he desires, good for him.. but if not, he should not do injustice to himself, by not playing by the rules just to spoil the dharma of the religion.. i strongly believe that rules were placed in a religion to discipline us.do u think that it is possible for us to live a righteous life when we cant even live by certain rules to discipline ourselves..
tats why to makes things easy..i personally felt that no matter which way a man adopts his religion, rather than arguing on how to practice it or feeling sad for not keeping up to the rules..if his focus is set on how to achieve the ultimate purpose..life would definately be much easier for him..
well again, wat u say is true..u cant force a cow to drink unless its thirsty...
and this one is frm me..
" never try to teach a pig to sing, cause it only waste your time and annoys the pig".. =)
well, i personally think religion should be a choice rather than a mould that you are born into. i think a lot of ppl turn to religion for guidance to set them into the right path...but what is right and wrong these days??? it's all so subjective and boils down to the individual's own judgment. religion was created ages ago to instill a sense of orderliness in ppl...i dare say it is a form of groupism, dividing men into sects...and when you hear religion these days being used as a basis for some civil wars or war among continents, then the purpose is defeated right there.
i think religion should be a provider of a soft fallback when things are not goin so smothly in our lives and offer us a sense of calm and clarity so that we are able to make sane and sound judgments of our own. remember....when things go wrong, it is very convenient to just blame God, but he is always just lookin out for you.
