Life being technical ...........

I got up earlier then usual today....... excited, as this day marks my first company outing ever since i joined them three months ago. I was proud to represent my company in a meeting with one of the greatest hardware vendors. Lazy as usual, I managed to pursue my dad in dropping me at the train station before taking a train and later a cab to my destination.

As usual in my mind, i was praying they wouldn't be any screw ups today, as it will leave a bad impression on me and most importantly on my company. Being early, i stopped by Mcd's an had my breakfast as i wanted to avoid making war with empty stomach. I then rushed over to the entrance of the building to meet my senior colleague before we attended the meeting on the 19th floor of that building. We were very inspired, as there were many chicks in the lift. I think we were practically the only guys in the lift at that time.

The meeting today was on server backups and the presenter was brilliant in his explanation. However, today being a Friday, I couldn't stop my mind from thinking about the topic to post tonight. From that moment on, i felt as if my mind had split into half and was doing simultaneous inputs. All of a sudden, the presenter gave me a fantastic idea when he did a fresh backup and said that all systems need a backup.

In my multi-tasking mind i quickly related his statement to life. The backup environment best explains the three states of life. The backup copy of a file can be compared to as the security that the past had given us.Preforming the backup not only saves our previous documents but also keeps the present documents on stamp, which simply relates to the present. What about the future ? Well the future is the very thought of preparing for that rainy day....which is having that backup solution.I am sure that this is not new to many, but the past, present and future are the entities that shapes the story of our lives. The reason i brought up this three states is because many people when recovering from a point of failure in life, believe that they should forget the past in order to move on... Is this a wise decision to make at this point of time .....

Well in my opinion, I feel that we would only temporary recover if we forget the past rather then if we face the past. Imagine life as a huge box. Now fill that box up with a few pebbles until it is quarterly filled. The pebbles represent our past, for some bumpy but for others smooth. Now, if you want to smoothen the surface of the box, would you prefer adding sand to the box or would you rather pick the pebbles out one by one. Well putting sand over the pebbles is what most of us are thought to do, which is to build a fake or a new image over the existing one and start life all over again. Well this doesn't really solve the problem, because one day, i am sure that the pebbles will surface from the sand and we will be back to square one.

The second option however doesn't mean brooding over the past but instead it means facing the past and learning from it. We need to reason out our mistakes in a logical manner and accept the mistakes and the knowledge that it carries. This reasoning out should not be bias and it must consider you putting your feet in the other person's shoe. In this way, we would make a fair judgment on whether the mistakes were really our fault. If we were in fault, we should make the lesson not to be repeated. However,if it wasn't our fault, then we should learn to avoid similar situations from repeating.

One thing is for sure, we can only move on if we had truly forgiven ourselves from every single mistake that we had committed. The only way to do so is to face every mistake rather then pushing it down further into the corners of our heart. Remember, we can put make up for our faces to look good but we can not put make up for our hearts to feel good. Stop running away from reality, face it and you will definitely find your true self some where down the line.A great man once said, mistakes are there to teach not to despair, hence if i were you i ll start picking my pebbles.

Life is a strive for perfection and we will never be satisfied until that perfection is met. I feel the first step of perfection is to learn to forgive yourself because only then it enables others to forgive you. Before i end this post, i want to add that life is not 100% like the backup solution because if you had deleted the past, you wouldn't be able to restore life forever.

Fill me with your thoughts.........

Hi ahilan , its indeed a very thoughtful post =)..well, frm my understanding, u were trying 2 say tat instead of running away frm the past, face it and learn frm it, rite ? i truly agree with that..yes, its only wen u learn frm the past, u will b wise enough to face the future, for it prepares u to face the future hurdles..But how if,upon realizing that the past was a mistake and a person decides to move on..? Wen one accept the mistakes frm the past, willing to change himself to b a better person and move on with life, he is not necessarily forgeting the past or putting a fake mask on his face.. instead, it means he has daringly faced the past, learned his lesson and he's now strong enough to face the future by living in his present, rite?..However,it makes me really sad wen i see most of us out there happen to misunderstand the meaning of "move on with life" with "running away frm life".. Worst still, some wont even allow those who wish to "move on" by condeming their moves and repeatingly discouraging them everytime they take a new step in life by uttering that they are running away frm life..its really sad, coz i truly believe that self realization can only be understood by the very self..Through this post, i wish to kindly request all my friends out thr, to respect the good changes we see in others and even if we could not help them, lets not condemn them.. just want to share teaching that i recieved sumtime ago, maybe it might be usefull to any one out thr as it was useful to me.. "i was asked to live my life like the air ; wen its near the drain, it picks up the bad smell, and wen it reaches the rose garden, it drops the bad smell and picks up the good one.." it simply means tat be adaptable to both good and bad experiences in life but dun get attached with it..juz keep moving on..
& ahilan,i wish to thank you for allowing me to voice out my inner voice through ur blog..
Best of luck for ur future post my friend & keep up the gud work.

=God bless=

I definitely agree with ur opinion of 'try to face the problems rather than forgetting them'. I feel everything that happens has reasons, whether good or bad. They somehow teach us to be a better person. That's a nice blog.:)
